Hi everyone and happy Friday! This is good food bad critics' first post! We're so excited to share our love for movies, tv shows, and incredible food with y'all. We also wanted a place where we can hit pause and recap the good and the bad from the week.

So to get the weekend off to an early start, we have some updates and general fun stuff we thought we’d share…

Ekta

1. I rearranged the furniture in my room for the first time in 20 years.

I first moved to Houston when I was 5 (in 2000) and other than the paint color... it's been exactly the same. I'm drawing some inspiration from Mr. Kate and the sorry girls. I definitely see a future re-design but for now I'm settling with a new furniture orientation.

2. Nishant and I started contract negotiations with our wedding venue!

It's crazy that 6 months ago I couldn't even put together our zola page without a panic attack... and now I'm skimming through contracts. It's probably because Nishant and our dads are the most incredible people ever. :)

3. I've been having so much fun helping Akash with his house hunting.

Akash (my twin) recently switched jobs and is moving out to Austin in the next few weeks. In addition to virtually checking out apartments, he's been entertaining the idea of buying a place. I'm over the moon because 1) I love Austin 2) I can finally put my knowledge from hgtv to use.

4. Biden finally announced his VP pick and it's Kamala Harris!

Kamala is an incredible lawyer and senator. Although she's only recently taken on more of her progressive views, I'm so happy that we have two solid and very competent people on the democratic ticket. Also her taking Joe down during the debate last year when talking about bussing was incredible and elicited an audible "ooooo" from me. And for the folks who think voting for Trump is a good idea... the gif below is for you.

5. I was able to meet up with my family friends in the first time in forever.

In the 3rd grade my family a couple others formed a tight knit crew. Over the years the "o.g. kids" group has grown up quite a bit - only one of us left in high school now! We binged the bonus episode of Indian matchmaking and made a midnight run to Taco bell. Definitely couldn't have pictured a better Thursday night.

Sidra

1. I'm starting a new blog with my best friend in the middle of a global pandemic.

I've been struggling with feeling like I should have more free time during the current lockdown to pursue a hobby, but could never find it. Turns out all the Twitter doom-scrolling was not only not productive, but also made me feel bad. I'm so excited to repurpose that time to making food and watching tv with Ekta!

2. Cute Masks

After coming back to Wisconsin in June, I was astounded how many people here refuse to wear a mask. Thankfully, there is now a mask mandate and most people seem to be following it. My masks have now become my new favorite fashion accessory, and I am very excited to wear this one from now until November 3rd!

3. Lake Michigan

After living in NYC for 4 years, I realized how lucky I was to grow up on Lake Michigan. I've been heading down to the pier most weekends since I've been back in Wisco, and after a stressful work week last week, it was exactly what I needed to reset.

4. Cheese Curds

The greatest snack in the world. A perfect pick me up and it pairs so well with a picnic on the lake.

5. Pandemic Cleaning

My parents have lived in the same house for 26 years, and are terrible at throwing things away. I've been spending the past few weeks helping them get their Marie Kondo on and part with things we no longer need. This week, we tackled the linen closet. There were so many sheets and blankets in here that the shelves were starting to buckle!
