After a week that somehow felt like a month, we've finally made it to Friday. Slide into the weekend with our weekly round-up.

1. I cleared my two week self isolation!
I've been back in NYC for two weeks and can finally go out into the world. I'm super excited to see NYC friends for some socially distanced hangouts in the next couple weeks.
2. I went hiking
A few friends and I went upstate and did some very easy hikes. It was great to be out in the fresh air and get some activity in, even if we did turn around midway through when the elevation became too annoying.
3. I've started knitting again
I left all of my knitting supplies in NYC when I went back to Wisco and haven't kept up with all of my projects. Now that i'm back i'm knitting left and right trying to use up all of my yarn.
4. The French Open is starting
Now that i'm back into tennis (courtesy of my roommate and the U.S. Open), I'm ready to dive back in to the French Open. My internal clock is very messed up given that it's almost October, but I won't complain about having more tennis to watch
5. I made it through the work week
As I mentioned above, this work week was particularly long, and ended on a stressful note, but it's finally over and that's what matters.

1. It's my birthdayyyyyyyyy week!
I love my birthday because it's a great way for me to figure out who should be on my sh*t list for not wishing me happy birthday. JK But it is a great way to reach out to friends and check in with my loved ones. This birthday my family sent over adorable videos of their favorite memories with me and Akash. Also my parents helped me assemble a giant taco bell Mexican pizza cake. It was emotional and wonderful and I can't believe I round to 30 now!
2. My mother got me these beautiful flowers
I love yellow and fresh flowers. My mom hates it when my dad or I buy bouquets because real plants are better. But for my birthday she bought me the most beautiful bouquet of golden/yellow mums.

3. I went to the drive in theater
I miss going to the theater so much so this weekend I decided to go to the showboat, a lovely drive in theater in Tomball. I remember going here all the time as a kid because for 2 movies at $5 that's a deal that no one should ever pass up. I watched tenet and the first part of the Xmen movie before I got scared by slenderman and the creepy smiley.

4. We had a picnic!
Growing up we used to have these on the regular in the park by my house. All of the moms and some of the dads in the family friend group are excellent chefs. We had an insane combo of tiramisu, dabeli, spanakopita, and gulab jamun. I left with a full stomach and very happy heart.

5. I built a tofu press
I first read the instructions on how to build a tofu press when I was 15. Ten years later I finally feel confident enough to stroll in to Ace and ask someone to help me. And also use a drill, circular saw, and orbital sanders by myself.
