Friday Things #8

We've had a bit of a hiatus over the past two week - Sid was packing up her apartment and quasi-moving out of the city. But we're back with plenty of great updates!

Sidra

1. I moved back to Wisco!

We're officially working from home until spring 2021 so I packed up all my winter clothes and moved back to Wisconsin. I'm incredibly excited for my first real winter in 4 years.

2. I'm running again.

I was supposed to run the Chicago Marathon last week to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association, but the marathon was canceled for obvious reasons. I'll be running it in 2021 and am slowly getting back into my running routine with a particularly foggy run this week.

3. My niece turned 9 (and I feel so old).

My niece is officially 9 years old, but in my head she's always going to be a baby. She's grown into an amazing kid and I can't wait to see the person she grows up to be.

4. I got my flu shot.

This year's flu shot might be the most important flu shot you ever get. Flu season already stretches the hospital resources and having lots of flu cases at the same time as rising Covid cases could lead to a disaster. Support your favorite healthcare worker and get your flu shots!

1. I went to a chocolate shop with my family friends to celebrate Navratri.

This chocolate shop had a shawarma option (chocolate shaved from a giant rotating spit) for the chocolate + strawberry waffles. I obviously made all my friends get it so we could re-enact this scene from avengers.

2. I early voted!

I wore a biden/harris shirt because I was so excited but then I had to inside-out it because you can't wear anything political when voting.

3. I'm visiting Nishant in California for a few weeks.

It feels incredible to get random hugs from him instead of the usual random virtual hug text messages.

4.I found a nyc bagel place in Livermore!

My go to bagel order is pretzel with strawberry schmear - don't knock it until you try it.

5. I had my first dairy queen blizzard.

I'm starting to think loving someone from the midwest means lots of DQ? I had the snicker doodle blizzard, Nishant went all in with the mocha oreo and we topped it off with some cheese curds.
