I love Zendaya. She's so talented and beautiful. I wish she had a better role in Spiderman 2.
But no worries because she has an incredible role in Euphoria, a show about high schoolers and their experiences of sex, drugs, friendships, love, identity and trauma. And now she also has an Emmy!
Character Map:
Rue Bennett, a "recovering" teenage drug addict
Kat Hernandez, invites Jules to a party
Jules Vaughn, a transgender girl who just moved to town
Fez O’Neill, drug dealer
Lexi Howard, Rue's childhood best friend (close enough to offer up her pee)
Nate Jacobs, Jock with anger issues
Cal Jacobs, Nate's dad who hooks up with Jules
Maddy Perez, Nate's sometimes girlfriend
Christopher McKay, in college, jock, Cassie's boyfriend
Cassie Howard, McKay's girlfriend
Thoughts
Ekta: Building off of Chemical Romance, I like that this show dives into the finding a person when you need them. The mix of shit this is high school and the very intense situations the "kids" find themselves accumulating into a semi train wreck a la gossip girl twists was amusing but kinda over done. I do like the development of Rue and Jules and would definitely continue to watch. 7/10
Sidra: At the risk of sounding incredibly old - what are the teens up to these days! Watching this show was like jumping into an alternate universe where high schoolers where everyone is sexting and partying and doing hard drugs. That being said, I'm already intrigued about where this show and these friendships and relationships are going, and especially the trajectory of Rue's character. I'll be finishing the rest of this season for sure. 7/10
